Chairman

Greg Barker (“Lord Barker of Battle”) has chaired EVN since 2017, guiding its rise as a sector leader. A former MP (2001–2015) for Bexhill & Battle, he was the UK’s longest-serving Climate Change Minister, spearheading David Cameron’s Green agenda and launching the Green Investment Bank.

Post-government, he has chaired the London Sustainable Development Commission, advised Lightsource, and led Quercus to a successful sale. From 2017 to 2022, he chaired En+, the world’s largest low-carbon aluminium producer. He also chaired the World Bank’s Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition and was named a UN “Climate Leader” in 2021.

Currently, he advises Powerhive, sits on the board of Glassview, and The Clean Growth Leadership Network (CGLN), is a Governor of Lancing College, and a Patron of the Garden Museum and the Aldersgate Group.

Reza Shaybani

Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Reza has 30 years’ experience in managing public & private technology focused companies in the semiconductor, solar photovoltaic & energy storage industries, possessing vast management, Directorship and CEO-level experience.

In 2017, Reza co-founded “The EV Network” a dedicated EV charging infrastructure development and investment company to build a network of ultra-fast public chargers under a unique business model. In 2020, The EV Network raised £300m to develop some of UK’s best EV charging infrastructure.

Reza has an extensive political, industrial & financial global network.

Sam Shaybani

Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer

For over seven years, I have been dedicated to building and scaling The EV Network into a market leader in EV charging infrastructure across the UK and Europe. I’ve shaped my career around driving innovation and sustainable growth.

The EV Network is at the forefront of the e-mobility revolution, delivering cutting-edge solutions that power the transition to a cleaner future. My focus is on long-term success—developing strategic partnerships, expanding our footprint, and ensuring we remain ahead in this rapidly evolving industry.

This is just the beginning. The journey towards a fully electrified future is accelerating, and we are here to lead the way.

Simon Courie

General Counsel

Simon has over 25 years’ legal and commercial experience in the infrastructure sector, including renewable energy, battery storage and EV charging projects. Prior to EVN, Simon was a Partner at an international law firm, advising investors, banks, supply chain, utilities and developers. Simon joined EVN almost from day one, and has played a key role in helping to grow EVN. He is known for his commercial and strategic approach, bringing a wealth of experience to EVN, both to the legal team that he heads and to the executive management team.

David Scourfield

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Experienced Corporate Finance Partner with a specialism advising fast growth, entrepreneurial businesses. Skilled in Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Development, including identifying acquisitions through to integration.

At EVN I am responsible for all aspects of the finance function including budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting to external funders and statutory reporting.

Phil Hack

Chief Technical Officer (CTO)

From electrical engineering apprentice to Managing Director, I have over 37 years of experience in the electricity industry. From designing and building electrical infrastructure to designing and building commercial constructs to transitioning from diesel and petrol to electrons. I have the skills and experience to help businesses take advantage of the e-mobility revolution and navigate the global transformation of transport.

Stephanie Walker

Managing Director, Real Estate

Stephanie is the Managing Director of Property at The EV Network, bringing extensive experience in property acquisitions and EV infrastructure.

Before joining EVN, she led SSE’s property acquisition team, securing sites across the UK and Ireland for EV charging expansion.

With a background in commercial property, she has held key roles at Graham + Sibbald, Cushman & Wakefield, and Tim Hortons UK, specializing in site acquisitions, lease negotiations, and commercial valuation.

Stephanie is an expert in risk management and has a deep understanding of property development for roadside and EV infrastructure. Passionate about sustainable transport, she is dedicated to driving the future of EV charging networks by identifying and securing prime locations that support the transition to electric mobility.
